Prevention over detection.
KTM operates an AS9100 quality management system built on prevention rather than detection. Quality begins at order review — requirements, critical features and risk are locked before the first chip is cut — and runs through process control sheets, in-process inspection, CMM verification and certified delivery. External quality, on-time delivery and efficiency are measured monthly and reviewed by management twice a year.
National Quality Assurance (NQA)
Certified since September 17, 2008 — ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 on a single certificate.

CMM Inspection
Two CNC coordinate measuring machines with envelopes to 60" × 51" × 39", running PC-DMIS in a temperature-controlled inspection room with calibrated instruments.
First Article Inspection
FAI on first run, after a process change, or when more than two years have passed since the last run — formal AS9102 first-article inspection when contractually required, documented with characteristic accountability sheets and CMM reports.
Material Traceability
Positive material identification by tag and marking shop-wide; mill test reports reviewed by Quality against specification before use; certified sourcing throughout.
Calibration
All inspection, measuring and test equipment is calibrated on schedule; final-acceptance equipment lives in the temperature-controlled room, and customer-supplied gauges are logged and tracked.
Corrective Action
Nonconforming product is controlled and dispositioned; corrective and preventive action drives root-cause elimination, and deviation requests are documented and reviewed.
